Nike Golf has made some tremendous improvements this year with their global apparel, with a focus on performance-driven outerwear. With that said, which Nike Golf athlete wears his or her apparel best on tour? Here are some of my thoughts:
Often sporting colorful outfits on the European Tour, Simon Dyson’s black-on-black outfit at The Masters demonstrated that he could bring the respect and professionalism that is commanded at Augusta, along with style.
Nike Golf Europe’s Border Cardigan is my favorite piece this year and it showed how Nike Golf was ahead of the curve with bringing the latest fashion trends onto the course.
Additionally, Dyson sports the Border Slim Pant which replicates the tailored look ingrained in European attire.
Jamie’s character and profile fits Nike Golf apparel well. His southern California demeanor, coupled with his 6’4” height, allows Jamie to pull off anything well. I think Jamie is one of Nike’s best dressed athletes because he is one of the athletes who wore the Tiger Woods collection on tour, and because he changes up his style so frequently.
Since the tour started this year, Jamie has been seen in TW shirt, pants and shoes, in two tone Air Zoom Elite 2s, and in the new Nike Air Anthems. Jamie has also switched between the Victory Red visor and the Victory Red tour mesh cap.
It’s clear that Michelle Wie has a runway model frame, but the 20 year old gets my vote as one of Nike Golf’s best dressed athletes because of her fashion sense on and off the course. As an aspiring fashion designer, Michelle has pulled off some of the hottest looks on the LPGA tour, including this rugby polo. Whether in pants or skirt, she has combined the tailored look with playability, meaning in even the most form-fitting apparel she can pull off the shots she needs to succeed on tour.
