Just like last year, Nike athletes are using LIVESTRONG staff bags in their respective events this week. Athletes on the PGA, LPGA and European Tours will be using the bags, including Paul Casey, Trevor Immelman, Carl Pettersson, Suzann Pettersen, Amanda Blumenherst and Pablo Martin. After the events the bags will be auctioned off with proceeds going to the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Check out these pictures that Nike Golf tweeted out of the bags of Paul Casey and Pablo Martin:
LIVESTRONG staff bags were also in play at last weekend’s American Century Celebrity Golf Championship at Lake Tahoe, where the likes of Charles Barkley, Jerry Rice, Jerome Bettis, Penny Hardaway, Marshall Faulk, Joe Carter, Dan Jansen and more were using the bags. Just saw your comment here — I agree, I asked Nike Golf back in July if they would offer any bags or merchandise with the Livestrong branding, and they said there were not plans to do so at that time. A shame because I think it would be very well received, I’ve seen other people asking the same question, and a % of the profits would go to a good cause. Nike is rolling out a lot of general Livestrong merchandise — athletic footwear and apparel — so in my opinion it makes sense to me to extend this to Nike Golf. If I hear of anything I will let you know!
If you can find a Swing Fore Yellow event in your area, they might have one as a silent auction item.
