I’ve been waiting for three months as Anthony “AK” Kim will come back to Firestone and look to get back into form post-op. AK said his thumb was bothering him for months and after his surgery and 12 PGA Tour events (2 Majors and the Players) later, he’s still in the Top 10 of the FedEx Cup points race. It must have killed him to be at the Canadian Open last week and not play, especially after playing so well in the previous years. Let’s take a look at what has kept him at 9th place for the Money Leaders and FedEx Cup Points:
- T24 at the Waste Management Phoenix Open
- 2nd at The Honda Classic
- T22 at the WGC-CA Championship
- 1st at The Shell Houston Open
- 3rd at The Masters
- T7 at The Quail Hollow Championship
Those were consecutive weeks! He was the hottest golfer in the world and his thumb was hurting him the whole time. AK didn’t have the best season last year and said he would get back on track this year. Much to everyone’s delight, AK can come back and battle it out with Rory McIlroy for title of best young golfer. Watch out for these young guns at one of the best back-to-back weeks in golf starting next week with the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and then the PGA Championship after that. We should see fireworks at Firestone starting August 5th.
Anthony made his announcement on Facebook earlier today.
Welcome back, Anthony.

Finally!
can’t wait.
