The 2011 Lunar Control was covered in our original preview post and was my personal favorite golf shoe in the new collection. The Lunar Control is the first to introduce the use of Flywire and Lunarlon technologies in Nike golf shoes. Flywire is already included in Nike basketball, football, soccer, and tennis shoes, and is expected to make its golf debut on Jan 1, 2011. According to Nike, Flywire is designed to minimize up to 50% of a shoe’s weight, while providing maximum support. The Flywire thread, made up of a manufacturered liquid crystal polymer fiber that is thinner than human hair, is used on the Lunar Control around the midfoot providing targeted support. Meanwhile, the heel features the Lunarlon foam cushioning system which is the improved LunarFoam for 2011. The foam will keep your feet close to the ground with lightweight comfort.
All this technology combined with waterproof performance leather by Sadesa, one of the leading leather manufacturers in the world, and Nike’s world-class design team, results in one of the best shoes in company history. My favorite is the white/black version accented with volt, a lime green color. What’s your favorite colorway?

White/Black and White/Grey
All black for me — these will get a serious look from me next year.
