Nike Golf Europe athlete Simon Dyson came up just short at the UBS Hong Kong Open today, firing a 65 in his final round, good for a T2 finish at 21 under par. It was Dyson’s third consecutive round of 65 at the par 70 course; the uber blond Englishman shot a 64 on day 1.
Dyson’s T2 was shared with young italian Matteo Manassero, and both finished one shot shy of Ian Poulter, who had a low tournament round of 60 on Friday. Dyson not only had close competition on the scorecard with Poulter, but also on apparel, as Poulter is widely regarded as one of the better dressers on Tour. I’m going to have to score that one to Dyson though, as he pulled off a variety of new and stylish apparel from the European collection. Here’s a look at what Simon Dyson wore at the UBS Hong Kong Open:
Day 1: Dyson wore a new short sleeve button down with his take on the ever popular monochromatic look . The navy ensemble was broken up by a white Nike belt and Nike Golf Vr Mesh Hat. On all four days, Dyson wore the new Lunar Control golf shoes.
Day 2: As the temperature is still hot in Hong Kong, Dyson wore a pink shirt and white trousers from the 2011 collection. These new trousers feature side splits and a straight fit, as opposed to Poulter’s 70’s style boot cut finish.
Day 3: Dyson was back again in white pants and a striped blue and white shirt for Day 3 while playing with the newly blond-highlighted Rory McIlroy. This time Dyson wore his signature wristband. Take a close look at the enlarged black swoosh on the back of Dyson’s trousers. Definitely a tour look or perhaps it is standard on the European apparel line.
Day 4: I’m really liking the way these new trousers look over the new Lunar Controls. I also like how the new black pants feature a white swoosh on the back whereas in previous years the swoosh was in the same color as the pants. Dyson’s white shirt includes thin black and red stripes with a black collar and cuffs.
