There’s a fad going on in the golf world with ‘ghosting’ equipment or painting it white. Some OEMs have officially done this to their equipment while other users have simply tried to do it themselves. Recently, the folks at Nike Golf experimented with former NBA star Penny Hardaway’s wedges and irons to create a unique black oxide/ghosting effect.
Hardaway’s split cavity irons and Vr forged wedges still have the signature penny in the cavity (yes that’s a real penny), and the original black oxide base. For the split cavs, the tour van folks have given the heads a white trim all the way up through the hosel and what appears to be a white shaft. For the wedges, the entire head is ghosted except for the black oxide base. Both sets have the red Vr detailing.
What do you think of Penny’s set?
