Hey all, it’s a fun week for golf as there’s a lot of action on the various tours. There’s a bunch of things I want to cover in this notes post so let’s get straight to it.
Switching to the 20XI Bag
While a few Nike Athletes made the switch from last year’s Vr Tour bag to the new, silver 20XI bag, this week at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, it appears that the rest of the team made the change. Nike Golf tweeted out some pics of the players switching including Justin Leonard, Stephen Ames, and Stewart Cink. Here’s a look at the Athletes switching bags before the CPI. Oh, and the bag is expected to be offered to retail in 2012.
Here’s Justin Leonard making the switch, sitting in a position that my knees will never allow me to sit in.
Stewart Cink’s bag looking fresh. Big shout out to the 3-iron from the old Pro Combo set.
Nike Golf Women’s Rain Gear is Awesome
Here in NJ, the beautiful Hamilton Farms Golf Club is hosting the Sybase Match Play Championship for the LPGA Tour. Unfortunately, it has been raining the whole week. But as expected, the Nike Athletes are well-equipped with some of the best rain gear in the industry. Courtesy of the folks at www.golfwrx.com, here are some photos of the Nike Athletes in their rain gear.
Nike Method Customized
The Athletes fine-tuned their putters before this week’s tournament, having a little grind work and paint fill applied to their respective flat sticks. Here’s a look at Stephen Ames’ Method 003 getting some treatment as well as four, count em’, four Method 001 putters getting a red paint fill for AK. What I would give to have one of those for myself.
Limited Edition Red Swoosh Golf Balls
By now you’ve seen the limited edition green 20XI golf balls, but did you know that there is a limited edition set of red Nike One Tour and Tour D golf balls? Over at GPP Golf, you can get your hands on this rare ball. According to the folks there, only 6000 dozen were produced making these one of the rarest balls of 2011. Here’s a look at what it looks like.
