As a big Nike Golf fan, one of the most exciting days for me is when I get to see the new season apparel or footwear line. This week, while I was busy writing my Lunar Control review, I got a sneak peek at the 2012 footwear line from counterkicks.com. Counterkicks is a site I have been reading for a while as they always have insider information on new sneakers, especially limited edition kicks from Nike.
This week they posted pics of the new Lunar Control and Zoom Advance colorways for 2012, as well as unveiled new models including the Lunar Prevail, Lunar Ascend, and Tour Premium II. They also adapted a Nike Dunk and put golf spikes on it which is pretty awesome. Links to Counter Kicks are below.

Here are my initial thoughts:
—————————————————————————————————————————————
Lunar Ascend: Pretty awesome integration of running footwear comfort. As I suspected, Nike has incorporated hyperfuse technology (which I wrote about here) in this shoe. I suspect it will be ultra lightweight and breathable, and a great walking shoe.

Lunar Prevail: This is another training/golf shoe that has the spikeless footbed and Lunarlon cushioning. This one should be good for casual weekend rounds in the heat.

Tour Premium II: Given how much I liked the original Tour Premium, this one came as a surprise to me. I didn’t realize that they would switch it up so soon. The all white and all black versions are sure to be popular on Tour. I really like the subtle embossed swoosh, and anyone who is looking for some flair on the course should be eyeing the black/white two tone shoes.
—————————————————————————————————————————————
Zoom Advance: Not much to report here but that Nike reversed the color on their original white/black version. This black/white version is pretty sweet.

Lunar Control 2012: With all the colorways I’ve seen available only to pros or colleges, I’m glad that the Lunar Control has four new colorways including orange, red, yellow, and black/yellow. Click the link to see all of them. There is no better shoe out there right now and now you can get them in a host of new colorways. Also new for 2012 is the Lunar Control Wide version, which appears to be featured in the same colorways that were available for the U.S. Open.

Dunk NG: Perhaps the most daring and creative move by Nike – taking an actual sneaker and sole and putting spikes in it. I’m not sure well this would go at your country club but for a guy like me, these are pretty awesome (I have owned numerous pairs of dunks and once played a round in them when i forgot my golf shoes). I expect AK to wear these at the very least in a pro-am round.
