According to TigerWoods.com, Tiger is parting ways with long-time caddy, Steve “Stevie” Williams.
I’m quite shocked here, so I’ll post the official word (which can be found here);
“I want to express my deepest gratitude to Stevie for all his help, but I think it’s time for a change,” Woods said. “Stevie is an outstanding caddie and a friend and has been instrumental in many of my accomplishments. I wish him great success in the future.”
I’m still not entirely sure what to say… Stevie has been caddying for Adam Scott for the past little while, but no one was too concerned. This ends a 13 year relationship and I think the entire golfing world will be saddended by this news (except maybe Adam Scott).
Since November 2009, Tiger has been in a large scandal, divorced his wife, has a new coach, new swing, injured himself, taken a hiatus and changed his caddy.
We’ll wait to see what’s next for Tiger. I’m sure he’s done for the rest of the year and he has yet to name a replacement caddy.
(maybe it will be a team of these young kids!)
