UPDATE 11.7.12: GolfWRX has put up another post with additional photos of the VR_S Covert irons, showing close-ups of the 4-iron through pitching wedge. Check out the photos here:
Last (but certainly not least) in the VR_S Covert line are the irons. We get a first look at Nike Golf’s new cavity back irons thanks again to the photos in this post on GolfWRX.com — the first thing I notice is these seem to include performance technology in a smaller head design (than that of a traditional game improvement iron). They look to be in the same size range as a player’s iron design, with a thicker sole and topline, and perimeter weighting on the back. The cavity insert looks to be a polymer material, and the face looks to incorporate Nike’s NexCOR face technology. The stock shaft looks to be True Temper Dynalite Steel. I’m sure there is much more technology in these irons than can be seen from these photos, we’ll look to Nike Golf to expand on that in their press release about the VR_S Covert irons.
