In the past few years, I’ve been wearing the Tour Flex Fit Hat and the Flat-bill Cap on the course, but this year I’ve decided to go back to the Tour Perforated cap. The last one I had was in 2008 where the ball was the ONE and the driver was the SQ. That hat proved to be really lightweight, breathable, and good for really rigorous activities. I even wore it on a 4-day hike in Peru.
Last week, I logged onto Globalgolf.com, on a recommendation from Twitter follower Ryan Bernal, since I was seeking the Tour Perforated hat in grey. Globalgolf.com seemed to be the only retailer who had the 2013 version in grey and I immediately bought it. The hat arrived today, just under a week from the time of the order and under the MSRP of $28.00. The price I paid was $19.99 plus $5.99 shipping.
Not much has changed about this hat over the years. It’s the lightest weight cap of the line and is extremely breathable. It is made from 100% polyester and features a lightly structured silhouette with a snagless back closure. When it is shipped to you it will come with a cardboard insert to maintain it’s shape. The velcro closure allows you to adjust it for maximum comfort and the fabric is easy to wash. I’ve never had a problem with sweat marks with this hat.
Overall, I have always thought this was a great golf cap, as well as everyday cap. It will protect you from the sun while allowing your head to breathe. And the Tour look is exactly like the one you’ll see on TV from the Nike Athletes.
This year’s changes are basically two-fold. One, the VR logo was replaced by the newly updated VRS logo (20XI side has remained the same), and two, the swoosh on most of the colorways has changed to a silver logo. I was hoping for something screen printed perhaps, but maybe the chrome look will grow on me. This years hat also has a contrast brim, which my perforated hat from 2008 didn’t have.
In addition to grey, it also comes in the following colors:
