Ryder Cup week is here and there are only two participants this year who wear Nike shoes – Rory McIlroy on the European side and Keegan Bradley on the American side, who wears Brand Jordan golf shoes.
I have only seen special shoes designed for Rory so far (see below) and I noticed Keegan was wearing red and blue laces, but here’s a look at some of my favorite shoes that have been designed for exhibition.
2014 Lunar Control 2 European Edition – I love this shoe for Rory. It was snapped by a photographer here. Nike essentially replaced the blue swoosh with a yellow one for a nice touch for the European squad.
2014 TW14iD for Europe – I took a shot at creating a TW14iD for the European squad even though I am rooting for the United States and I really like how this came out.
2008 Zoom Elite USA Edition – You may remember this shoe from the 2008 Ryder Cup at Valhalla where Anthony Kim sported the shoe almost all week. Here’s a pic of AK with Phil where you can clearly see the red swoosh.
2009 Tour Premium Presidents Cup Edition – I’ve always loved this shoe with its simple styling. The one change that Nike made for this commemorative edition was adding a clean red stitch on the side of the shoe and emblazoning the player’s name on the side. This particular photo is of Justin Leonard’s pair.
