I was able sneak out to the TPC Scottsdale this morning to take some photos at the Waste Management Phoenix Open Tuesday Practice Round. I got there around 9 a.m., but not early enough to get any pics of Tiger Woods, who was on the grounds before sunrise. He teed off for a 9-hole practice round just after 7 a.m., and was back inside the clubhouse before I made it to the practice area. Tiger gave a press conference around 10 am. (you can view that here), then headed to the back of the range for some more practice. Tiger will also be gaming the new TW’15 this week (read Nike Golf’s press release about the TW’15 here).
The best I could do was get a photo of Tiger’s bag and his caddie Joe LaCava, when Tiger was getting ready for his press conference. But I was able to get some pics of some of the other Nike Athletes who were out getting ready for the week. I caught up with Russell Henley at the 15th hole, and also got some pics of him putting and chipping at the 16th green. I was able to get some pics of Seung Yul Noh and Kevin Chappell at the range, Francesco Molinari getting a bunker lesson from Dave Stockton, and Jhonattan Vegas on the putting green, where he was talking with Nike Golf Tour Rep Steve Stach.
It was a quick visit for me today, but from the looks of the crowd streaming in this morning — a LOT of people for a Tuesday — it looks like it’s going to be a festive week at this year’s Waste Management Phoenix Open. Enjoy the pics in the gallery below!
