Nike Golf Athlete Suzann Pettersen Captures First Win With Nike’s New 2014 RZN ball

suzann_win_10_28- Pettersen defends her Taiwan Championship title, locks up fifth global victory of the year -

Suzann Pettersen dominated the field by five shots to clinch her second consecutive Sunrise Taiwan Championship, her third LPGA title in less than two months.

It was the Norwegian’s first win with the new 2014 Nike RZN ball, which will be officially unveiled in more detail next month. Pettersen, who put the ball in play for the first time just two weeks ago, became the first Nike athlete to win with the 2014 Nike RZN ball, which will become available early next year.

In addition to the 2014 Nike RZN ball, Pettersen’s 14-club Nike arsenal includes her Nike Method Core 3i putter featuring Polymetal Groove technology, which helps to reduce skid and produce a truer roll. Pettersen, playing irons from Nike’s VR line, leads the LPGA rankings in greens in regulation (76 percent) and is third in putts per greens in regulation, birdying three of the final six holes to secure the win.

“My game is in a good spot. I’m a grinder. I love to practice. I love to prepare myself, and then it’s even better to go out and get the job done,” Pettersen said. “I think personally, mentally, I’m ready to take on number one. That’s my drive, that’s my goal. I want to dominate ladies golf and to do that, you’ve got to go out and you’ve got to be comfortable with big leads.”

Pettersen is closing in on the top spot in the Women’s World Golf Rankings — after her win in Taiwan, she is just 185 points behind the world’s current number one. The victory is Pettersen’s fifth in 2013 and the 14th of her career on the LPGA Tour. It is also her eighth straight top-ten finish of the year.

Pettersen sported apparel from Nike’s Tour Performance Collection and Nike’s FI Impact footwear.

Pettersen picks up second major of her career, Noh notches first win on the Web.com Tour

Nike athletes Suzann Pettersen and Seung-Yul Noh powered through challenging weather conditions and tapped into their Nike arsenals – including clubs, balls, apparel and footwear – to lock up a pair of victories on the LPGA and Web.com Tours, respectively.

Pettersen played through repeat rain showers in Évian-les-Bains, France to capture the Evian Championship, her first major since 2007 and the second of her career. The win – her second-straight on the LPGA Tour — caps what Petterson calls “the best month of my career,” which kicked off with a stellar performance at the Solheim Cup and was boosted by the Norwegian’s victory at the LPGA Safeway Classic two weeks ago.

Pettersen, playing irons from Nike’s VR line, currently tops the LPGA rankings in greens in regulation for the year at 76 percent, and has dominated with her Nike Method Core 3i putter to hold third place in putts per greens in regulation.

“It’s very satisfying when you hit shots and pull them off at the right time and make putts when you really have to,” Pettersen said. “It’s nice to hit that second shot on 18 and have actually a 3‑putt to win.”

Pettersen sported apparel from Nike’s Tour Performance Women’s Collection and the new Nike FI Impact footwear. Her Nike arsenal includes the VR_S Covert driver and Nike’s 20XI X ball with revolutionary RZN technology.

Seung-Yul Noh claimed his first Web.com Tour win at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship in Columbus, Ohio, while also securing his PGA Tour card for the 2013-2014 season. Battling blustery winds at Ohio State University’s Scarlet Course, the 22-year-old South Korean finished ahead of the field by five strokes for a final score of 12-under and averaged more than 313 yards with his Nike VR_S Covert Tour driver.

Noh hit nearly 80 percent of greens in regulation with his Nike VR irons and Nike 20XI ball. He wore apparel from the Nike Golf Tour Performance Collection and laced up in Nike Lunar Control footwear.

Nike athlete Suzann Pettersen produced a come-from-behind victory at the LPGA’s Safeway Classic in true athletic fashion.

Entering the final round three strokes back, Pettersen birdied eight out of an 11-hole stretch with her Nike Method Core 3i putter to secure her 12th LPGA title and second LPGA Tour win this year.

“I tried to give myself chances. Once I got going I felt like I made a lot of clutch putts,” said Pettersen. “I guess that’s what made me win today. The putter was a good friend of mine.”

Relying on her 14-club Nike arsenal, including irons from Nike’s VR line, Pettersen hit 57/72 greens in regulation (79%) and is currently ranked first in greens in regulation this year (76.3%).
Pettersen also used Nike’s innovative cavity back driver, the VR_S Covert coupled with Nike’s 20XI X ball featuring more RZN technology. On the body, Pettersen wore apparel from Nike’s Tour Performance Women’s Collection and the new Nike FI Impact footwear.

Suzann Pettersen Wins in Playoff at LPGA LOTTE Championship

Nike Athlete Suzann Pettersen Secures Playoff Victory

-Pettersen wins with Nike’s new VR_S Covert driver-

Nike Athlete Suzann Pettersen, secured a playoff victory at the LPGA LOTTE Championship in Hawaii.

Pettersen won with 14 Nike clubs in the bag including the new VR_S Covert driver with the Nike FlexLoft adjustability system set at 10.5 N (Neutral). The stunning red driver features a cavity back design, distinctive and simple FlexLoft adjustability system, and NexCor face. Petterson’s victory is her second win this season using the innovative VR_S Covert driver.

Pettersen fired 26 birdies and produced an average of 26 putts per round using her Nike Method Putter. The Nike Method franchise features Nike’s polymetal groove technology, generating a faster forward roll at impact for increased accuracy.

Pettersen expressed about her play, “It felt like I executed four good rounds under par in very different conditions.  I’ve been feeling good with my putter, so I said to myself, ‘you know what, you might make a few errors but you’re going to have plenty of opportunities to make birdies.’”

Pettersen also played with Nike’s new 20XI X ball featuring Nike’s RZN Core technology.  This groundbreaking technology provides a lighter, faster and more responsive core than rubber core technology. RZN technology allows for less spin off the driver and more spin off the wedge, creating greater distance and control.

With her recent switch to the combination of the VR_S Covert and new 20XI X golf ball, Suzann has picked up an average of 18.5 yards off the tee since her last win at the Mission Hills World Ladies’ Golf Championship.

Pettersen wore Nike Golf Apparel from the Performance line and new footwear launching this fall.

Make It Three W’s for Team Nike on Sunday

SP_SB_TW_600x250

It was a stellar Sunday for Nike Golf, as Team Nike notched three wins on the day. Nike Athlete Suzanne Pettersen started the victory march with her win at the Mission Hills World Ladies Championship, where she carded a bogey-free final round 66 to overtake Inbee Park for a 1-stroke victory. It was her 16th worldwide win, and her sixth on the Ladies European Tour.

Nike Athlete Scott Brown kept the party going with his victory at the Puerto Rico Open, the PGA Tour’s opposite field event to the WGC Cadillac Championship. Brown shot a final round 70 that ended up being enough for the win. He birdied the final hole, while leader Fabian Gomez bogeyed for a two-shot swing that gave Brown the W.

And the eyes of the golf world were on Tiger Woods to see if he could bring home a win at the WGC Cadillac Championship at Doral. Woods entered the final round with a four shot lead, and ended up winning by two shots over his good friend Steve Stricker (who gave Tiger a putting lesson earlier in the week). Tiger’s birdie fest (27 on the week) resulted in his second win of 2013 and his 76th PGA Tour title. It was also his 17th World Golf Championship title and seventh WGC Cadillac Championship title.

Also of note was world #1 Rory McIlroy’s final round 65, where he carded 5 birdies and an eagle on his way to a T8 finish. Rory entered the week struggling with his game, but after rounds of 72, 69 and 71, Rory seemed to hit is stride in round 4, swinging with confidence and seemingly leaving his swing issues behind him.

With three wins this weekend, and Rory getting his game back in gear, the 2013 season seems to be shaping up to be a good one for Team Nike. We’ll be keeping our eyes on the Nike Athletes on the PGA and European Tours in the next few weeks as they get ready for the first major of the year — yes, Masters week is only four short weeks away. Let the quest for the green jacket begin.

Suzanne Pettersen Gets Second W In a Row at Taiwan Championship

Nike Athlete Suzann Pettersen Secures Back-to-Back Wins with a Victory at the Taiwan Championship

-Pettersen won with a full bag of Nike Golf equipment including VR Pro wedges and the Nike Method Putter-

Nike Athlete Suzann Pettersen, secured her 10th LPGA title with back-to-back weekend wins.

Battling blustery conditions in the final round, Pettersen defeated the elements to claim victory at the Taiwan Championship. She capitalized on aggressive shots, utilizing her VR Pro wedges and Method putter to yield 23 birdies.

“My wedge game has been great all week,” said Pettersen as she broke down the success of her final round. The Nike VR Pro wedges, part of Pettersen’s Nike arsenal, utilize high frequency grooves – more grooves that are closer together. This groove formula ensures maximum flight control and shot-to-shot consistency.

After sticking it close with her VR Pro wedges, Pettersen sank crucial birdie putts with her Nike Method Putter. The Method franchise features Nike’s polymetal groove technology, generating a faster forward roll at impact for increased accuracy.

Pettersen also played with Nike’s 20XI X ball featuring Nike’s RZN Core technology.  This new innovative technology provides a lighter, faster and more responsive core than rubber core technology. RZN technology allows for less spin off the driver and more spin off the wedge, creating greater distance and control.

Pettersen also wore Nike Golf Apparel from the Performance line and the Nike Lunar Links, featuring Nike’s successful Lunar technology.
